Run in the midst of Harvard University, and especially the Business School and
Harvard's athletic fields, Greater Boston Track Club runners were out
in force for this race. I was 8th place, in 31:03. On the very left edge of
the picture is Brendan Reilly (who I hear is operating out in Boulder,
Colorado these days), who gained ground over the 1/4 mile that was left in the
race when this picture was taken. Brendan finished in 31:04 for 9th place.
Bob Clifford was about 50 yards ahead of us here, approaching a PR
except that he stopped to throw up about 200 yards from the finish.
Nevertheless, he came in 7th in the race, one place behind 1976 Boston Marathon
champion Jack Fultz.
